We are just finishing up our studies about Ancient Egypt. The girls found the parts about mummies and pyramids fascinating. GO figure that it was just in time for Halloween! LOL Here's a picture of the pyramids that they made out of sugar cubes. They really wanted to eat them later, but since we glued them... :P
We also just completed the first nine weeks of school. I can't believe how much we have learned, not just academically, but on so many other levels too! We have grown closer as a family, and the girls are beginning to show so much maturity and responsibility. For me, some of this has been an unexpected surprise. I had heard other families talking about the effect homeschooling had had on their families, but I just didn't imagine that it would change us so quickly. We still have our ups and downs as we journey through this adventure, but I can honestly say that I have absolutely no regrets! This has to be one of the best decisions I have ever made, and it's a huge relief to be able to honestly type that today, instead of saying, "WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!" I hope not to sound too philosophical, but I guess we are making our own family's educational "pyramid", and I am so happy to be playing such an important part in building that with my children. So here's to history and the history to come, my friends!
