The girls just finished up this month's book report. We decided to do a shoe box float with a written paragraph about the scene they depicted. Here are the finished projects. R read My Side of the Montain, which is the story of a boy that runs away to live in the forest. Rachel made the clothes for her character without a pattern or help from me. I thought it was very clever, but then again I am likely biased. LOL
S read a book called The Whipping Boy. It was about a prince that actually had a servant that took his discipline for him. If you look closely you might be able to see the prince and his servant hiding in the forest from the "monster men". They both had a great time with these books!
We are also busy working on our November service project. We decided to walk in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. The girls and I have gotten to know one of my Kindermusik students, Jack. He's become very special to us, and we wanted to honor him with our November project. Jack recently survived an open heart surgery at the ripe age of 5. Unfortunately, too many of us have a loved one affected by heart disease or stroke. If you'd like to make a donation to our team, Jack of Hearts, please click here. Your donation will make a difference in the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers-heart disease and stroke.
