When I first considered home schooling, I had several concerns. One of them was making sure that my children were allowed adequate opportunities to socialize with other children. Other people who home schooled assured me that this wouldn't be a problem, but I'm a "see it for myself" kind of girl, I guess.
Well, we've been through almost half of the school year now, and I'm amazed to find that not only do my children have a great social life, but they also have more friends than ever before. Not just any friends either-close friends from great families. I can see that this has been a great opportunity for my children to grow and learn. What a wonderful blessing!
We invited some of those friends over to celebrate the Christmas season with us last week. We decided it would be fun to let the kids make Christmas goodies together. What a delightfully, fabulous mess! :) Talk about sugar overload! The menu? Snowman cookies, gingerbread houses and snowflake brownies. Talk about a sugar overload! They only tasted, well.... um... pretty much everything. LOL
